Getting ready for Seuss week

  1. OK, so I know they aren’t supposed to do anything but read…can they write and draw?
Give them one day where they have to create another title for the book, based on the moral or theme. Let them replace the front cover with another illustration. Maybe they can also draft a blog on the “Top 5 Dr. Seuss Books for ______”. By Friday, they’ll be back reading!

  2. I had them read today and do a story map of it. That kept them from going through books willie nillie. Tomorrow I was going to do a large story map of my favorite Seuss books. Thursday and Friday do something like that, Aletha. Seems like we were on the same page.
