Today is my start of the my 20th week on the ketogenic diet. I have so much more to learn and so much more to improve upon on this journey. I’m by no means an expert or even a really strong guide. I’m a much less immature student. I’ve learned so much more about how I respond to various foods, sleep patterns, electronics and so much more.
Looking at the next 5 months I have two main goals. I’ve got to improve my keto cooking. This is a very, very simple eating protocol to be non-creative. Lots of fat, moderate protein and low carbs. Steak with smeared butter, with a side of broccoli and cheddar cheese. Pretty simple and really easy to get into the habit of not pushing creativity. I have been experimenting, but I haven’t become proficient with some of the more complex recipes.
Another thing I want to do in my next 5 months of this eating style is capitalize on the benefits. I wanted to feel differently and since starting this way of eating it’s been a real winner. I feel outstanding. I rarely feel run down or beat. The mid day lows, albeit not banished forever, haven’t been nearly as daunting. I want to keep leveraging how I feel against keto and see if I can get just a little more energy out of this diet and way of life.
One month into summer and I have so much to do before the end of July. Let’s see how we do.
