I am all about the class coming up with solutions. Even if I regret that decision later. I expressed to the kids my concern with worms being in the castings. They agreed and came up with a solution; pick them out! Of course they would come up with that idea. So we had our K4 buddies come over and my class picked out the worms while the K-people looked at them via magnifying class and put them back in the huge compost bag. Everyone was happy. Well except our cleaning person. They got a lot of dirt on the floor. SMH
Taking our time we came up with a few more solutions and changes to our experiment. We chose to us a spray bottle to spritz the plants everyday rather than 3 times a week. Some of the soil (dirt) looked “super dry” and it might change our results. The consensus was that if the soil all looked dark and moist we’d be happy. Though we can’t truly measure the spritz, we think 3 spritz per pot should be enough.
I actually think we’ll see some sprouts Monday. Just tingling of the Spidey senses.
